After many discussions and proposals to Council, we have finally been approved to have a major upgrade to our Training Nets at Vermont Reserve.
Work is due to commence around mid January and will be completed in a few days. The good news is that Council will be meeting the total cost of this upgrade.
The works will involve removing the current runups and carpeting, the levelling of the pitches and the laying of crushed rock, then the laying of new artificial grass runups and wicket side strips.
This has been a long time coming but persistence has won out. The current setup is somewhat dangerous.
In fairness to the Council, we have recently had sidestrips installed on the oval, then a new pitch covering was laid, and now the nets upgrade. We currently have a good relationship with Council and will work hard to retain that relationship and hopefully enjoy further improvements to our facilities
