With a lengthy interrupted start to the season due to washouts and abandoned matches, it has been challenging to do our match day wrap ups at the club on Saturday nights after the games, however we finally got a full round in over the last two weeks and we had a good attendance back at the rooms for our match summaries, and importantly recognise some individual performances with the Nobel Logistics Match Day Awards.
We had some mixed results across our four senior grades with both the 1st & 2nd XI having a tough round, whilst the 3rd & 4th XI came off with strong wins. There's still a long way to go throughout the season and plenty of opportunity to pick up again and get back to training & playing how we should be and getting the wins on the board, and we can achieve this if we are all prepared to step up in whatever role we all play on & off the field. The club has some great young talent coming through that are prepared to give their best and push for selection into the higher grades, and this effort and positive attitude will get rewarded.
Some great individual achievements from each game last round, and the following were selected by their Team Captain to receive the Noble Logistics Match Day Awards:
1st XI: Bradd Taylor - a solid 56 runs to help put a good score on the board.
2nd XI: Ollie Horlock - one of the young guns coming through the ranks who was able to put on 37 runs in trying circumstances.
3rd XI: Henry McNally - a popular player who helped his team with a big win delivering a huge 100 N/O
4th XI: Zach Taylor - one of our U14's who opened the batting and made a very nice 63 runs - his first senior 50+ runs too!
